Black Widow Necklace Care
Your necklace is a miniature preservation chamber and wearable curiosity cabinet combined. Treat it like both jewelry and a tiny museum specimen to keep it clear, secure, and wearable for years.
Handling & Storage:
- Keep hanging upright, to prevent leaking.
- Remove before sleeping, exercising, or any activity where it could be bumped.
- When not wearing, keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Heat and UV rays can discolor both fluid and specimen.
Liquid Care:
- The preservation fluid level should always cover the specimen.
- If you notice evaporation, leaking, or a drop in liquid level, contact me. I do repairs and refills free of charge!
- If needed, clean with a cloth dampened with water only.
- Avoid cleaning with alcohol or chemical cleaners as it can deteriorate the seals.
- Never submerge the entire necklace.
Liquid Refill:
- If your necklace needs to be refilled or topped off, you will need 70% isopropyl alcohol, a syringe, and pliers. 70% isopropyl alcohol can be found at any local drugstore.
- Carefully use the pliers to twist open the metal top. See picture below. DO NOT grab and twist from the jump ring at the top. You will either open/break the jump ring, or crack a seal.
- Use the syringe to carefully refill the necklace until the level reaches just underneath the threads.
- Screw the top back on and tighten.

Safety Notes:
- This is a preserved specimen, not a toy. Keep away from children and pets.
Need restoration or refilling? I can safely reseal, refill, or stabilize your necklace without disturbing the spider inside its tiny glass universe - free of charge!
